water drops

im looking for a mod or a way to get rid of the annoying water cascade effect when the external camera and periscopes move from underwater to surface view

I saw your thread yesterday, there is a file you can delete that I believe will fix this for you, I am just not sure where that file is, however I did see a post about this quite awhile ago, but can't find it. I think it is located in the misc folder :yep: You could always back up that entire folder and try removing a file and running a single mission to see if it does the trick. This would take time but that is part of modding :yep:

For the record I like the effect, but to each his own :D:up:

No problem :yep:, it was frustrating the hell out of me because I had remembered seeing it, actually I had posted in it.

sad note. something else must be controlling the effect now as i removed the file and the effect was still there :( back to the drawing board. im going to let it sit some more in the back of my head maybe i missed a file to mod in there. work is interfering with my game time again thanks for the tip in the right direction.

I think the file you need to remove is this:

underwater_disp_map.dds

It controls the water sheeting effect but if you remove it you will also lose the underwater distortion effect too.

Check that thread, there are some other posts that may help out.
Sorry it did not work out.

worked perfectly. that was exactly what i wanted to achieve. thank you very much. that effect has been annoying me for a very long time as i like to get right up on the target as the torpedoes hit and pop between surface and submerged to watch the action
