BdU is trying to kill me!
3 Oct 1944
My orders are to patrol BF 24. I say the old man can stuff it. So I get under way with a smile on my face, and Bernard happily trying to talk to the dolphins playing in our wake. Soon after I clear out the raidio room, and have a long talk with my IWO and CE. We are about to become the toast of the KM. Or shot for disobeying orders. We are transferring ourselves to the 10th Flott. Our eels will run out long before fuel will. Running at 9m and setting our diesels to make turns for 8kt our superior XXI will actually make 11kt in good weather. By all calculations this should give us a range of approxamately 42K km after factoring in less than optimal seas, recharging batteries, and pursuing Allied shipping. With an estimated 30K km to the Far East it is a feat I know I can accomplish. Providing someone does not drain our fuel tank while trying to flush the toilet. Status reports to follow. |

Currently 1000km west of Rekjavic. It is either very impressive, or very frightening how many aircraft the allies have now. The only good thing about the frozen wastes this far north is that the weather is terrible for flying. Diesel reserves as expected. Having a difficult time keeping the men warm enough while submerged. Am expecting to arrive in Jakarta somewhere around New Years. |

Bdu seems to be hell bent on sending all his XXI subs up the Channel, as i've been ordered into the same general vacinity. A couple passes of tanker alley should run us out of eels long before reaching shallow water:arrgh!: |
