Quick Mission: Tokyo-Saipan Convoy

How can I complete this mission? Objectives say only that "Engage enemy convoy heading to Saipan".

One time I had six merchants and light cruiser on my record, but still I didn't succeed in the mission.

Do I have to sink all the ships?

Anyone?

Hi osirvio, Welcome to SUBSIM

Sorry nobody has answered this yet, I played some of the single missions through to completion in SH3, but not in 4, jumped right into career mode :D so I will venture a guess.

As in career mode, you should be able to see your objective completed on your clipboard. So, Objective(s) asked for >>>>> Completed ( or not completed if your are not done ).

Single missions are not so popular and the ones I've played all seem a little peculiar. I've not played that one. I suspect these possibilities:
1) There is a particular ship(s) in the convoy you need to sink.
2) You need to take out a particular tonnage total (even if it means sinking all the largest ships, or sinking several ships from several convoys.)

Suggestion: Go after only the largest ships and sink them all.

The more far-fetched possibility is you have not identified the correct convoy, but from my experience so far, the game will throw several candidate targets at you until you get it done.

the answer is

You need to sink "7" merchants...Not warships..Merchants.:arrgh!:

I think the total tonnage for that mission is around 38,000 Tons of shipping
