CHARLOTTE, NC - The Carolina Panthers have officially announced the introduction of Richard Phillips, ex offensive co-ordinator of the Clemson Tigers, as the new Head Coach. This comes after weeks of speculation regarding who the team would choose out of Bill Cowher, and Phillips.

"I think this decision was the best one to make" said Davidson, chairman of the Panthers organisation. "Phillips has the youth and drive to lead this team to the Superbowl and beyond. This is not saying that Cowher does not posess these things, its more an issue of ensuring a coach's continued interest in the team. Cowher may have spent a few good seasons with us, then made himself availiable again for a meatier contract."

"Work begins today" said Phillips, outside the Bank of America stadium. "There's alot to get done before the main season starts, and I still havent finished making my introductions to the team and the coaches. I will say this, however. Expect big changes, and expect them to be good ones."

Bill Cowher could not be reached for comment.

This isn't madden, but that coaching game, right?
