No deck gun ammo!!!!
During my last patrol (8), I had fired a fish or two into a merchant. I then proceeded to surface my boat. Since the weather was on the calm side (very, very rare in the 8 patrols so far), I decided to let my deck gun fire for the 1st time ever!! I ordered men on deck, selected fire a water line, short range, & finally fire at will. It didn't take long to figure out that something wasn't right. My deck gun wasn't firing!!! After repeating the orders again, still nothing. Then I realized that I had no deck gun shells!!!! How can I have no deck gun shells; It's the 1st time in 8 patrols that I have decent weather to permit my deck gun crew to be able to get on deck to be able to fire the deck gun and when they do, I have no shells!!! :damn: Where did all of the shells go to?
Has anyone else had this happen to them? |
Let me guess, u playing GWX?
Go to the Gunners position and click on the shell to load the first round.;) You only have to do it for every patrol. |
if there is an ammo shell stood up on screen - over on the right, click on it to activate. the loading line will proceed to fill. once filled, it's ready to fire.
if you are using sh3 commander - do you have sabotague/malfunctions enabled. are your gunners trained up? fill the green bar above them. can't think of anything else, hope this helps |

Ahh!!!
I never knew you actually had to load it!!!! Yes, I'm using GWX Thanks Guys!!! I try it out !!!!! Side Note: If I remember, both numbers on each side of the upright standing shell were zero!! |
I feel for ya bud. I have been in a similar spot before.

Good luck!
Anyway, as I play with SH3commander and malfunctions and sabotage on I'll make a full trial of all vital boat functions during every patrol as soon as I leave the dock. This includes also a practise shot with all my guns. I don't check the fire command of my torpedos, but that's the ONLY test I leave out. I even open and close the doors. I don't trust any harbor worker :arrgh!: |
