target Torps

Is it possible to target torps using sonar ?

elanaiba 12-03-07 04:32 AM

You can hear them on the hydrophone, if that's what you're asking.

If i wanna target them using torps ? Possible ?

tchopz 12-03-07 06:57 AM

You want to hit a torpedo with a torpedo?

IMO not possible. And it's not the case of if it is coded in the game or not. It's a case of hiting such a small target travelling 46 knots on an unknown depth.

Something like trying to shot a bullet with a bullet during a duel.

No what i meant was to use sonar to target torps to hit ships....Is this possible ?

And what are the steps of doing it ?

mrbeast 12-03-07 07:14 AM

You mean firing on a ship using only sonar bearings to find a firing solution?

Try this thread, Werner made a cool video tutorial on how to do this.
