im gonna add, L_DOG wants to get his sub faster to. we want to get a few convoys before the game crashes again, please advise

You can potentially add whatever speed you want to it, but nothing incredibly insane.

Hell, I once got mine to go 80 knots! You can imagine how nice that was! (AND HOW LAGGY IT WAS!!)

I could be wrong, but I think the higher you set a sub's speed parameters by editing the more fuel or battery power it will consume. A 35 knot submerged speed for example might come with a huge hit in battery capacity.

I've been playing around with the file for the past couple of minutes, and I've gotten the sub to move at 260 knots (the speed of a plane!).

Now I just need wings attached to the sides. Time to fetch the chief engineer and Bernard for our anchor.

thats all good, but wich file's do i edit ?

is this post for real ?

Kaleu. Jochen Mohr 12-02-07 09:16 PM

yes, and i hope i get an answer soon becouse a MP is comming up and both L_DOG and me wanna have our file's edited to hunt more convoy's

but so far no one told me what file to edit

i think using that kind of ... thing in multiplayer is considered cheating ... i really dont know if its possible or not.

as long as you and your mp buddies all have the exact same set up
you should be fine.

if you open up the sub dat in minitweaker or file analyzer
(typeXXI) that is

you should be able to alter the settings for speed without difficulty
in order though to complete the process you need to open up the
cfg file for the sub and enter the new top speed.
also as regards range its not an absolute.

you can set the range longer if you like thereby not loosing anything
to the speed. its an average setting like 10,000 nm @ 10 kts
just up it as you please

Hope its a bit more helpful KJM

Get SH3 instepctor i tweaked my ships to 999kts and traved the world and that the sub went so fast around turns it lost course and died of impotions a million meters under water. http://www.delraydepot.com/tt/sh3sdk.htm ps also you can make any ship or plane any speed you want.
