¿Custom intro screens?
 

What do I need to add custom intro screens? They seem to be locked in .ndx format, which I suppose is a custom one from Sonalysts :hmm:

I have some nice pictures of Kilos I'd like to have as intro :D

Also, can I remove somehow the intro video to speed up loading time?

Anyway they can be turned off easily in dangerouswaters.ini, simple to find.

SkipMovies is from older SCS games, it has no effect in DW, as well as many other settings.
For spashscreen you need modding tools. Check modding thread, or subguru.com. The tool is part of LWAMI mod too (available at subguru.com). It's called cmpUtil.exe.

Oops! Of course I ment the .ini file. Sorry I mixed up DW with another game :roll:

The graphic is in the 3d file that is in the Graphics folder.

Its easy enought to change (just can't remember the exact name off the top of my head)
I'll have a look later for the names etc

The name of the file is easy enough ... logo.grp

If you wanna see how you can change the images there simply check out the lwami mod and the batch files I made. Aside from that make sure that the BMP file you wanna use has the right settings, otherwise you will get an error and DW wont even start.

There is a way to make your own movie. Find the movie file, it is a text file ending .cam iirc don't have DW installed at the moment, you can edit that to replace the name of a vessel with one of your choice from the dbase and it will appear in the ending credits.

SCS do have a purpose built movie maker but never released it as it was unfinished, buggy yada yada.

In fact I'm amazed no one here took a look at the movie files and figured a way to make a standalone editor.

I know I don't hunt round here anymore, DW bummed me out to be honest and SCS lack of response to anything since Jamie left but has anyone heard anything from them?

Frying Tiger responded to my report of a spam message on their forum some time after thanksgiving IIRC. So he's above the layer. Dunno about here though.

Importx/export graphics tool download link is currently broken in Bill's site :damn: I have the tool in LWAMI, but no readme or tutorial how to use it :hmm: Anyone remember the size of the graphic for the splash screen so I can work on it while I sort the editor problem?
