Dangerous Waters and Sub Command work in Linux!
Just in case someone would be interested in this... Dangerous Waters as well as Sub Command work almost perfectly now with latest wine-0.9.49 in Linux. The only problem for now are sound effects (don't work) - of course this is a showstopper, but hopefuly they will eventually fix it. Anyway, both games can be installed and run fine now, so this is a big step forward.
I've created Wine AppDb entires for both games: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManage...rsion&iId=9913 http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManage...rsion&iId=9914 Regards. |
GREAT!!
As soon as I can I will try it... Probably the final step for me to get rid of windows.... :yep: |
I apologise if this is post-necromancy, but this was the only thread I could find on the topic.
I'm ordering an eee PC from Asus, (possibly you've heard of it) and it runs a version of Linux called Xandros. Sadly, I do not know Linux, (but I intend to learn quickly) and so must ask; Firstly, will wine-0.9.49 work on this machine (more or less?) and where might I look for it? Second, did you ever clear up the sound issue? Apologies for the necromancy, and thanks for any help you might be able to give me. |
It depends on the graphics hardware.
Unless I am mistaken Wine turns DirectX calls into OpenGL calls and sends them to the hardware. You will need to see if you can get some OpenGL going. |
DW on Linux
DW seems to work great with no issues on wine 1.7.18... Check it out. This is according to wineHQ.
