Question Of Desperation
I heard from a friend that it's possible to fly planes in IL2 1946 such as the B-17, B-29, Pe-8, U-2, and others that one normally wouldn't be able to fly with at all by using the mission editor. Of course, it will have to stick in exterior view, but is this true?
|
Probably one of the standard planes, skinned to loook like something else?
I'm not sure. |
I've seen this on some MP servers to be sure, not sure how you'd do it via the mission editor. Yea, technically it's possible, you'd have to use the external view or the "gun cam" view.

Been flying a B-24 Liberator on MP. Thought it was wierd, don't know how they did it.
|
Some servers use the unflyable planes, but like it's already said, it needs to be flown from the external view. Tho, there are ways to do it properly, but sssshh. :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjZ_BxXP__k right off youtube and their u go!
|
So how is it done? This could be useful for my Warby movie as I could maybe use a plane more suitable than the Betty.
[edit] Ah, that's what the youtube is about. |
What happens if you select F1 and the Ctrl-F1 to remove cockpit?
|
by forcing in unflyable planes into IL2 mission means there is no cockpit at all for that plane.
not even the Guncam view (thats what the name is when you press CTRL F1) at least I didnt had one when I was flying on a server who had some unflyables. flying external makes the the whole unflyable planes rather useless , you cant aim in dogfights nor have a decent bombing run. HunterICX |

Yea, but you can load up that 5 ton bomb on the Pe-8 and then aiming it doesn't even matter :fff:
