Help with sun glare.

Ok, I need some help with the sun glare in game. I use to have it on my old rig with a 7800GS, but now with the new rig and 8800GTS I've lost it. I know some of you guys have got it to work with the new 8800's, so I'm guessing it's an issue with the driver version, or settings. I recall some mention of not setting AA/AF higher than 4x, but so far I haven't seen any change regardless of how much, or little, AA/AF I use.

So to anyone with a 8800, what drivers do you use and also what do you have set in the control panel, AA/AF, etc?

Hi Rodan,

I have a 8800GTS and i have the sunglare working.

AF is X16 ; Whatever you use, it's not to consider.

AA is X4 ; Anything upper this setting and you loose sunglare.

In control Panel, make sure the setting called " AA-Gamma correction" is set to Off ; If "on", you loose Sunglare.

Hope that helps.

great forum

I was just about to post a very similar question about sun glare as I recently upgraded from an ATI x1550 256mb DDR to an 8500GTS with 512mb DDR2 and was surprised to find that there was no sunglare...now I know why. This forum really is the best source of advice for both Silent Hunter and hardware issues

Happy thanksgiving everyone
