Sub properties question

Looking at the properties section I had a couple of questions

under unit submarine/properties/unit ship/object hydro there is a fr_ratio parameter. Does anyone know what this is for?

Also under surfaced and submerged drag, there are 2 settings- LR and UD

What is the difference between the 2?

Last does anyone know if drag affects fuel/battery range or top speed? Since these have totally seperate entries it made me wonder how much I can play with the drag without messing those up.

Thanks ahead of time.

This is a pure guess, but considering that we are talking about drag, I would think that LR = Left/Right or horizontal drag and that UD would be up/down or vertical drag. Considering the shape of the boats there would definitely be different drag coefficients in the different directions.

fr_ratio is used to position the gravity center, (1 front, 0.5 middle, 0 back), in conjunction with gc_height (meters from the bottom).

LR is left/right drag and UD is up/down drag, they defines the resistance to movement of the object.
I don't know for sure if they affect the ranges, but I think they do.

yes, drag = resistance and the amount of drag will effect fuel range and battery life.

think of it as if you were literally dragging something.

Thanks everyone. I had a feeling FR was "front rear" CoG, but wasn't sure.

But for the life of me couldn't figure out LR and UD drag- too much time modding flight sims and was thinking it must be something complex :D
