CTD on savegame load. SH3 commander? HELP!
Hi,
I recently started using SH3 commander again so I could play around with the XXI. All is well and good until I try to load a save game. At the end of the load, just before the screen switches to 3D mode I get a CTD. This only happens when I load a savegame (I've only tried loading savegames in careers started in SH3 Commander). I get no CTD on new careers or missions. I haven't tried loading a savegame from a non-SH3 commander career. Any thoughts? |
Hmm, that is strange. I've never had any problem like this before.
Try rolling back yet? |
Repeatedly. No luck.

I had exactly the same in my old XXI-career...I also use SH3-Commander (plus GWX).
Even went 3 saves back...still the CTD right before the 3D-image launches. Tried to find out, if any mods were conflicting...couldn't pinpoint any. I deleted that entire career, and started a new one. This one is running ok, so far. But I take extra care, as to where and when I save...seems the XXI is even more tricky, when it comes to saving your game. So I make sure that: - I'm far away from any port (50km minimum) - I'm NOT running decks-awash! Which I run nearly 100% of my XXI-patrol...but if I want to save-game, I order to fully surface, and give the uboat time to do so. - there is no convoy near to be seen or heard. So far, this has prevented any CTD's, and I'm now in my 5th patrol. |
hi skookum
have you saved underwater or, have you loaded game without going through sh3 commander - whilst using sh3 commander ? this one seems to be a low posibility, if done the odd occasion, but still... ctd has happened to me with above issues. in the heat of battle i often forgot whilst underwater. |
Under certain circumstances you got a corrupt saved file and i suppose the only option is to go back to the previous saved file.
Hope this helps |
