Position Keeper Line On Map

Hello all, when i watch the great video on tdc by? forgot his name, on his map it shows a line for direction of torps created by the position keeper, I cant seem to get this line to show up, what am i doing wrong. This is the position line of enemy boat and interception line of the torpedoes, hope that made sense. This is the video.

I believe it is called the attack map position keeper, is the attack map the same as map or is it different, what button displays this? thanks all in advance for your help.

that tends to disapprear when you cross the international dateline. starting a patrol west of it should get the line back for ya

Not sure what you mean mate, I need to be west of ?

There is currently a bug in the game where if you cross the International Date Line, the torpedo line disappears from the attack map for the rest of the patrol This bug should be fixed in the 1.4 patch due shortly.

If you use the Trigger Maru mod, it includes a fix to start your patrol west of the IDL (just west of Midway). That way you don't cross it and the line is still there (until you cross it Eastbound home to Pearl at the end of the patrol).

Ok thank you very much for the help.

What about the attack map compared to the nav map, what is the difference and how do i get to the attack map, thanks.

The navigation map is the default map you go to when you hit the map button. It's the one with the continents on it, that you can draw on with your ruler and compass.

The attack map is the one where you can access all your TDC stuff like you have at the periscope. It is a blank map that shows your sub and an X where the TDC thinks the target is and which way its headed. It also shows the track the torpedo will take upon leaving your sub and where it will intersect the target (if you haven't yet crossed the IDL, that is).

I believe in the stock game you only get to the attack map by selecting the map tab, and pushing the second button from the left. In Trigger Maru a key is mapped that will take you there directly.

And those two keys laid out side by side is why I learned the rest of the TM layout very gladly! Easy access to the attack screen is vital.

I never got myself to use the attack map. It's mostly navigation map for orientation and periscope for firing. The attack map just kinda...lacks precision.
