Oh how nice it it to be in the (statistically) intellectual elite and laugh at the other two thirds. :know:

I knew about Everest and The Nile but I didn't know the EXACT number of countries in the world. Afterall there are so many in Europe, Africa and South America that i've never heard of. Not to mention the many small Island nations dotted around the globe. Plus I still think it's more fun to mock a yank than a brit, I don't know why but it's just how it goes. :p |
Yup, no country in the world has a monopoly on dumbasses, if you think that's bad Neal, you should try living here with them.
:D Chock |

Ah, I knew someone would get the reference. :) |
A recent study (multiple choice format) amongst German teenagers having finished school or are being close to finishing it, saw answers like Helmut Kohl having been the last head of state of the GDR, the wall being errected by America, the GDR having been a "Basisdemokratie" (=basic democracy?) and Angela Merkel being the head of some international charity foundation.
But probably the latest entries for the charts for cellphone sounds they all knew while sleeping. Please hold such answers in high respect. They are coming from those who will be the future of our nations. |
They don't know where Everest is, but a whole third know the exact number of countries? It doesn't add up. Hell, I didn't really know the number of countries, though I would have put it around 200. There's disagreemants on the number of nations anyway, as it depends on which nation officially recognises other nations.

Wha!? :o Everest isnt in Finland!? Then what's that mountain I see on my backyard then??
*checks recepts from last weekend "Whole lotta airplanes - 2mil€", "Moving mountain from Nepal to Finland - 220mil€"* Oh bugger... |
