The Rodney... with but 1 Escort??!! And acting starngely enuff, it parked with its broadsie to me in front of the convoy... Oh well, "how does that icy cold seawater feel filling up yer lungs dopey?"

This convoy was not huge but most of the ships in it were..my 2nd patrol ..Nov 1939 BE6413 NNE.

My highest tonnage to date per one patrol 142.5 K .

BTW what class is the Rodney... Revenge etc.? :arrgh!:

Woah, nice one, you're damn lucky to sink a battleship like that.
BTW. Does sinking all british battleships alternative the history on game somehow? Like preventing the destruction of Biscmarch?

mstgnymike 11-12-07 03:23 PM

yes you can save the bismark and the Rodney was a Nelson Class ship

My experience is just the opposite. I did sink one Nelson class BB on May 27, 1941, then watched the Bismarck give a good pounding to the surviving KGV BB and leave the scene not unscathed, but alive and kicking all the same. After a couple of hours I got a msg on the radio saying Bismarck had been sunk. It seems you can't change history in SH.

(playing GWX 1.03, don't know if vanilla SH3 behaves differently)

Actually you won't even get that message or mission in stock SH3. ;)

Yea, can't do much about the canned format.

Yeahaaaaa!

Good shot, Herr Kaleun... and very nice pictures :yep:

NiclDoe 11-12-07 06:17 PM

Did you sink it before the bismarck sunk or after.

Hanomag 11-12-07 06:38 PM

Sank HMS Rodney Nov. 1939....:smug:

Torplexed 11-12-07 08:23 PM

Cool combat pics.

Question....does the game check off named capital ships as they're sunk? Or does it just spawn replacements?

I remember in SH1 you could sink the Akagi over and over.

Brag 11-12-07 09:33 PM

The battleships will keep respawning. Congratz on an excellent sinking. Don't worry about the war, with people like you, we'll win it :arrgh!:

Congratulations on your achievement. Brag is right, battleships do respawn, I have sunk the Rodney twice during my current career.
