have sunk 3 large freighters and 3 escorts: 1 Southhampton and 2 Black Swan. evaded escorts during apprx 3hr depth charge pursuit. was able to attain suitable firing position to sink both.

have sustained heavy damage due to lying in wait, in hopes of second escort departing area, submerged next to severely damaged Black Swan, dead in water, when it suddenly and without warning exploded prior to sinking. due to efforts of my crew, damage was repaired and flooding controlled. one diesel beyond repair, however am able to RtB Wilhelmshaven

unexpectedly reencountered same convoy as previous. sank 10k+ ton freither, one smaller ship and a submarine which may have been neurtal. while on surface to obtain suitable firing position we were fired on by submarine and returned fire from long range finally sinking it at close medium range. we acted entirely in self defence in the engagement. am currently in grid AM43 and have resumed course. expect our arrival in 150hrs time
