No Home?!

Patrol 8, some where off the Australian coast:

So After a looooong patrol, I return to Brisbane, and I'm not given the option to dock, so i refit, and go out and hit it again. Return and yet again, I can't dock. I'm ordered to deploy to the Solomans, Then to the Carolines, then back to the Solomons, then to sink merchant shipping in the area. After this, I return to Brisbane for the 3rd time, and I still can't dock. Any one ever had this problem? I guess I'll just try to dock at every anchorage til i get in.

Never tried docking at Brisbane. But never had a prooblem with Perth/Fremantle on the west coast. Also never been sent to Brisbane.

hmm... Appearantly, I was changed mid-patrol to Perth-Fremantle. That damn Bernard must have lost the orders before the got to me.

Angus89 11-05-07 08:33 PM

Well at least now you know. Like I said I have never been sent anywhere but Perth so far.

Yes,quite a few of us have had his problem. OK, the best way to do it is look in your CareerTrack.upc file, (use notepad to read it if it asks)

I go into the my documents folder where it says SH4 then to saved games, the one on the bottom should be your last saved game. Double click the carreertrack file and search for something like this

ID=ID
Reason=CSS_FlotillaChange
NameDisplayable=
CurrentDate=1944-08-20 10:11:16
FlotillaIDLink=PearlHarborCommand

(a file like this after patrol end will also be at bottom)
Reason=CSS_PatrolEnd
NameDisplayable=USS Balao
CurrentDate=1945-02-26 23:48:41
RenownGained=3499.599854
RatingGained=3.000000
TotalTonnageSunk=150993.000000
MaximumTonnageOnUnitSunk=33800.000000
EndBaseIDLink=PearlHarbor
EndFlotillaIDLink=PearlHarborCommand

so if it says freemantile, then you are there, but if it says pearl like above, then you are out of pearl. What happens is they can change your base and you wont get notified. But here's a trick that will help you find where you are. Hope it helps

Yeah, I was in the middle of a patrol, so i really didnt do my research.. I found quite a few posts about it after looking into it. Thanks for the info though.:up:

Glad I read this one. Turns out I need to go back to Pearl Harbor and I got very little fuel to do it with. Fortunately, a sub tender has dropped anchor near Johnson Atoll.

Also incase you didn;t know it.

There is a Sub Damage report tool made by Billko that also tell's you what port you are assigned to for return to base info as well as giving you a more detailed report on sub damage and crew report's on max dive depth and more.

Ha!

Got one almost as good - decided in mid '44 to transfer to Pearl after fighting the war to date from the Asiatic squadren.

So where do i get sent from Pearl on my first patrol? The Celebes Sea off Borneo, not Japan. Not a big deal as by then the US has enough sub outposts across the Pacific for refueling 9and I'm in a Balao whic has long legs anyway).

But it IS making for a looooong patrol! :o
