Gears of war on PC - latest DX9 vs DX10 tests
Hmm - can you spot the difference? I can't.
There is one major difference though - you take a massive performance hit going to DX10. So far, I see no reason to go DX10 and Vista on my main gaming system. It is all negatives in my book - nothing positive yet. http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/articl...50aHVzaWFzdA== -S |
You are correct!:yep:

I see no difference whatsoever, save for FPS...
Vista shall hopefully BURN for its witchcraft against us users! Long live XP! |
I'm still waiting for a product that can convince me that I need DX10. That is all I am looking for.
From what I think right now, I think the current crop, and even the next generation of GPU are grossly underpowered to use any nifty tricks that DX10 has to off us. That is why I am not now, and may never go to Vista for my gaming system. I'll probably just skip Vista alltogether and go Windows 9 (or are they calling it Windows 11?) in 2009. Vista is a flop product in my opinion. The next rev of Windows is supposed to do everything that Vista was supposed to do. That is why I want it. Anyone remember all the cool movies of cool stuff you were supposed to be able to do in Vista? Well, all that is still coming, it just never came out in Vista. Vista got all the bloat, and left all the cool stuff on the work bench. -S |
Agree with you all the way Subman, it will be interesting to try DX10 when it gets converted for use with XP, I will do a 3DMark bench test then ghost my system, install DX10 & run test again.:yep:
