GWX Reload Problem
 

I am in withdrawal,

Can't load GWX. Had a comp crash so I did a total system reset. Made sure SWIII was not on my machine. Reloaded SHIII to my C drive. Downloaded the 1.3 patch from UBISOFT and installed it. No mods just a clean install. I downloaded GWX bin 1,2,3,4,5, and Exe from jimbuna's site. I have tried to execute the GWX file three times and get the error message SHIII is not a 1.4 patch every time. What is going on????? I have not been in my sub for four days and am going bonkers.....

Umm you said you downloaded the 1.3 patch and GWX is complaining you need the 1.4 patch?

(or have you mis-typed something?)

keep on mind, tho, that while 1.4 is d/l'd it'll install as 1.3 for some dumm@$$3d reason. atleast that's what shows mode screen, career/MP/single mission:-?

You need to follow these instructions to the letter to make your GWX install work:
GWX Installation Instructions


1) Have a clean unmodded copy of SH3 patched to 1.4b on your hard-drive. This means:
No mods enabled via JSGME
No SH3 Commander Mods either
Installation of SH3 must be totally clean.
Note: If you require the SH3 patch please visit the SH3 official website.

2) Download the GWX.exe and the five Bin files.

3) Place the Bin files and the GWX.exe together in their own folder
Folder can be called anything...
e.g "GWX Supermod" But the Bin files and the exe must be together in a folder.

4) Double click the GWX setup icon and install the Grey Wolves eXpansion.

5) Installation complete, GWX 1.01 is now installed.


GWX Patching Instructions

1) Download GWX103

2) place it somehwere safe for future use.

3) Double click to patch GWX to its latest version.


That's it. You are now ready to play!

To all SH3 Commander users: If you intend to use commander Please make sure you
download the GWX103 cfg files to put in SH3 Commander.

where exactly is that:-?? dunno if i have it or not as SH3cmdr seems to work just fine

No the GWX cfgs for SH3commander are seperate from the 2.7 D\L

Otherwise would affect players using WAC\NYGM ( which also has extra commander cfgs ) or stock

k, so what effect is there with the cgf files, that i didn't have when i last played?
