Big Macs

I just ate a Big Mac for the first time in ages, and what happened to them? They are so tiny! So I said, maybe I don't rmemeber right since an 800 calorie Big Mac is still 800 calories, right? Not so! I looked it up, and now they are only 540 calories!!!!!!. Crud, I'd need to eat 4 of them for a 2000-2500 calorie diet!!! I mean, what happened? 800 calories used to be the perfect size for one of your three square meals a day!

Anyway, so I guess they are smaller - yet they still want three friggen dollars for that thing!!! I can go down to a mom and pop burger place and pay $3.50 for a decent sized burger than is probably 800 to 900 calories. Mc D's is a rip.

PS. It could be worse - I just looked it up and the US has the biggest version. Take Australia for instance and they have a tiny 480 cal version. You guys down under are getting really screwed!!! :D

And you survived?

We all know here in the UK there made from rats. :rotfl:

They use cat here in the US. But hey, I get a hankering for a Big Mac every now and then.;)

I rarely eat @ McDonalds just because I usually feel guilty after eating there but every once in a while I get a megacraving for the double cheeseburger.....which has been on the dollar menu for quite some time now. I have a taste for one of those. I swear they put something in their food to make them addictive.

I've got a long-time friend who used to haul "swingin' meat" for Mickey D's... After some of the stories he's told me, I'll never touch the a Quarter pounder again... The Filet O' Fish is alright... Besides, as SB1 has found out, and to coin a phrase from a Burger King ad, "where's the beef"? Wendy's is better IMO... ;)

I agree, I think compareing a Bigmac from the 80's and early 90's is smaller than what's served now.

Chock 11-02-07 05:11 PM

I wouldn't touch that slop with a bargepole. In actual fact, I once did some advertising for McDonalds (they are really picky as a client incidentally), which resulted in them sending me load of vouchers - but even making it free didn't persuade me to eat there, I gave them all away. I'm not averse to fast food, but that stuff is garbage.

:D Chock

I'm frankly amazed that there's anyone out there that will eat anything from McDonalds, with the except of the sundaes. I don't trust meat I can break apart using my tongue against the roof of my mouth.

Oh, and $2.79 for six chicken nuggets? You gotta be ****ting me!

The WosMan 11-02-07 05:16 PM

HAHAHA.....it's likely not USDA choice. Probably some Grade F cancer meat.....they grind the tumors and everything into it.

I agree - there is something in the meat...:yep: You must remember, they grew up in a time when making addictive products like cigarettes was a normal thing.

Who can forget "secret sauce".... ugh.... ack.... :dead: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Mac

And as there has been a huge proliferation in fast food joints all over the friggin' place over the last 25 years or so, it's no wonder that being over-weight has become a global problem... :o

My wife is on the Weight Watchers program and you should see the stats on most of the fast food junk they've published... I can feel my arteries hardening already...
