Any decent freebie software I can use to batch rename and sort photographs?

Google's Picasa. http://picasa.google.com/

Leaves the photo's where they are and gives you the ability to do basic edits, get rid of redeye, relabel, add captions and even post 'em to the web amongst other things.

Best of all it's free and extremely easy to use.

Yes, Picasa i a good program i used in the past. Personally however i am not so happy with those large databases many picture viewers create.

I wanted something more "light-weight" and i now use XnView. I especially like its ability to find out double or similar pictures and it comfortable rename function.

I think irfanview takes some beating :hmm:
