Can't patch to 1.4
 

I downloaded the game again from Direct2drive and installed it as well as SH3 commander...when I tried to patch it to 1.4 (after rolling back with SH3 commander) it said something about unknown version.

I then uninstalled the game and installed it again...tried to patch and it still won't work.

I did download the correct patch for the downloaded version and also tried the DVD patch just in case...still no dice.

What am I missing here?

I had a problem like this. Fixed it by simply redownloading the patch .exe from a different website. Tried FileFront yet? Maybe even try the main Ubi website.

I downloaded the patch from the Ubi site...I will try another source and see what happens.

I will report back with my findings.

Remember to remove any old SH3 files in My Documents.

Hmm tried that.
 

I just deleted the folders in my documents and the seems to not work either.

It keeps saying

"D;\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\menu\de_menu. txt: unknown version"

I can't seem to figure this out.

I also tried downloading it from different sources.

The game may already be patched to 1.4, there is a way to check this :hmm:
Edit: It should say the version on the menu screen, lower right corner I think.

I am installing it again after deleting all instances that I could find of it on my computer.

I found a folder in my documents and the main one.

I will be sure to check the version when I start it up again.

You are right...it was already patched and I did not see it.

not suprising seeing as how I don't see very well.

Wow...all that work was worth it after playing around with GWX.

The whole game is changed and for the better I might add!

Now good old U-1701 (hey I am a trekkie) will have no problem sinking tommy.
