new orders

lo all
whilst perusing through my silent hunter game manual, i noticed a reference to a "new orders" option in the message compartment. i dont seem to have this, only "send contact and patrol report" fields. is this a flaw in the stock game, or do us scots just not get this part HA!!:p

Just another of the many planned features that didn't make it into the final version of the game. Sad but true! :-?

Only time I ever get new orders is when I am outta torps and low on fuel and they tell me to come home. Getting that message makes my wife real happy too. She loves me going back to base as no self respecting uboat commander is going to do anymore than a quick wash with a moldy washcloth while underway. Hmmmm, maybe that's while she keeps saying I take the realism a bit far:hmm:

Although some more radio options would add to the fun of it....

Remember how often the real uboats were ordered to send weather reports.... and of course were HF/DF-ed by british ASW forces :D

Not sure about adding weather reports because I don't think people would want to see that. But RadioLog expansion will have about 6,000 radio messages for emersion. The project currently has about 5,350 and estimated to be 70% done.

Weather was just an idea, maybe there could be other stuff? But to be precise: I thought about _sending_ options ... :yep:
For the receiving side of more radio messages, I am one of those guy who can't await your release. I'm realy curious :D

Actually there is the "Send weather report" function in the game interface, but it doesn't work, so it was disabled. You can enable the icon in the Radio Operator menu, but it ain't functional. Like the Request New Orders, just another planned feature left aside because of a rushed release date.

What a pity. That's what I meant with "nice to have" .... and getting HF/DFed :D

But who cares: I hate destroyers, that why I learned to do a kill "head on" with magnetic fuse and manual targeting  Albrecht Brandi would be proud of me ... I hope
(Sorry for that balzism :D)
