I've always been under the impression that creative book keeping was an art perfected by both sides of your legislative... in unison.

Waste gate, what pisses me off most is that my Social Security is penalized because I have a government pension. I have worked two jobs for more than 30 years. But my government pension is public record. Because of that my Social Security amount is lowered. That's because I all ready have a pension. But I work my ass off to have a little better life and now I'm penalized? When some people just come here legally or illegally and get benefits before me..............

Baby boomers that apply early only get 75% of the total or about $240 a month less than they would make if they wait till they are 66-69. Then the baby boomer can have 100% social security .

I have to wait another 2 and half years ... that's how I know.

Too true. waste gate loves to rant about the evils of government; its universal yuckiness and how it needs to be as minimal as possible. Meanwhile government has bloated plenty under Republicans and all of the biggest budget deficits are the doing of Republicans.

You're too obcessed with partisanship wastegate. Republicans have historically wasted more money doing NOTHING except perpetuating non-pinko ideas such as corporate tax incentives and military expansions meanwhile the liberals have been trying to give wasteful handouts to the poor and other social misfits for a fraction of the ludicrous military budget increases.

Can't we just be reasonable here and say that everyone is an a$$hole? At the very least under your own terms wastegate the righties are as corrupt as the lefties, or is government only evil when its in the hands of progressives?

Lyndon Baines Johnson, Democrat, first president to do it to pay for his "great society act" and other various things. Now after we have spent trillions fighting the "war on poverty" we have only further ruined peoples lives and family structures, eliminated the need in some cultures for a father, and created a generation of welfare recipients all to keep people like Hillary in power. My neighbor that lives across the street mother-in-law can come over here from Czechoslovakia back in the late 1980s and apply and get a social security check.....never once working in my country...and then go back home where she lives now and uncle sam sends her a SS check..........what a great country. Now my mother, who is on a pension system due to working in public schools, can never collect SS even though earlier in her life she payed into it.

Social Security should either be completely eliminated and I should get a refund check for what I have put in it or it should be privatized.

I couldn't get anything either. My college here paid my tuition, which was a gift from God/Science, but nothing from Uncle Sam.
So I got to come home to loan repayments. Joy :)

In my unasked for opinion you should call Social Security or write them a letter and give them a heads up. You don't even have to give your name. It's the right thing to do.
