Sudden, inexplicable, death

I was inocently making my escape from the scene of the crime, 160 ft, silent and slow. when BAM! damage everywhere and my Porpoise is sinking. I thought I had all the escorts a safe distance away, so I reloaded and watched on the God-Cam, and sure enough there nobody within a mile. I just seemed to self destruct. I had 3000 ft of water under the keel, so I don't think I hit anything. There was no previous damage shown on the display. Did I hit a mine? Any ideas? Help. I get killed plenty by regular escorts, I could do without the invisible ones.

stange my first idea was a mine but they typically wont be in water deeper than about 100 - 150 feet or so.

using any mods?

Has a similar problem quite a while back. While heading in for a harbour raid, but still way out in deep water, I'd suddenly plummet to the bottom and implode for no reason.....:damn:

reload back at Pearl and try again.....
get to a similar point, and sufer the same again...:damn:

reload back to Pearl and try again.....

:damn: :damn: :damn:

Finally after many reloads, it occured to me that I should try saving a little closer to my destination to at least shorten my trip each time, and for some unknown reason it (the crash dive of doom) never happened again. Never worked out why, or what caused it.:hmm:
