Mini Chrono (I know, covered)
Could someone release a jsgme for the mini chrono? I've searched the forums but can only find the code to change it, and I'm just not comfortable with myself to change it without screwing something up.

the problem with what you are requesting is where the setting's are made

Jimimadrid made a tool that can add change line's just to the menu file and works kind of like JSGME although like I said it is specificly designed to do just the menu file changes as far as I can tell and or remember. So you may want to ask him about getting or using that tool to make the changes to your file if you are not comfortable with it. |

If you like, I will give you a version of the file that only has the clock change. But I need to know if you use any mods that have altered the same file. |

OK, here is my little proggie called JTxE. It will only change the needed lines in the menu1028_768.ini.
http://dodownload.filefront.com/8798...f51bb491ae5c2a Install it with JGSME. 1. After that you will find an JTeX.exe in the Silent4 Folder. http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/6062/jtexlagekn8.jpg 2. Start it and you will find the mod for changing the chronosize. http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/8729/jtex1pn1.jpg Press the button with the green Arrow and JTxE will do his work. Like JSGME you can deinstall the mod with JTxE. |
I might have missed something.... but isn't this amazing app the exact thing that came up in the recent JSGME thread where people (including me) were requesting a merge tool that would change only the necessary lins for files such as the Menu_ini?
So, in essence, this can merge mods that all use the ini, without needing to hand edit the file. It appears what we were asking for was here all along? I have yet to try it, but I guess the proper line changes needed to be setup before hand and inserted for the app to use (like the mini chrono example above)? Awesome tool, Jimimadrid. |
This is something new that Jim did I was testing it out

That program is sweet! I hope you and jones can get together and work something out.

mini chrono - ONLY for version 1.5
If you are using the u-boat add-on (version 1.5) for Silent Hunter, here is the proper code that will get you a working mini chrono with all the parts in the right places and running like any fine time piece should.
There were changes in the menu_1024_768.ini file (for some reason, they changed the order of the tags) as well as changes to the directory structure and file locations that made previous stand alone mini chrono cause the latest version of SH to throw fits. So here you go, thanks mainly to Jimimadrid and captaincox. A mini chrono that works 100% - ONLY for version 1.5 Just paste this text into any text editor, save and implement with JTeX.exe Code:
Targetfile=Data\Menu\menu_1024_768.ini |
Link for JTxE
Hi, jimimadrid and other. I have been playing SH4 for a while now and am very interested in making some changes to menu1028_768.ini with JTxE (such as the one in this post), but can't find a link that works these days. Do you still have it available somewhere?
Thanks! AukAuk |
I still have a copy of the JTx tool. I can email it to you if you like- shoot me a pm. if somebody can't offer you the original download package that I believe comes with an installer that would create the ini_Mods directory for you, as well as perhaps a readme file.
I do not have the original download package- just the executable file itself. You will need to place the chrono.ini into a folder called ini_Mods that is in the silent hunter directory for the Jtx.exe to see it. |
