Blu-Ray ups the Ante with 100 GB disc
The war keeps going! HD DVD is outdone in the storage sector once more.
You know, all HD DVD needs to do is drop the DVD layer from it's HD DVD's and it would have another 1 to 2 layers available for storage. Its being backwards compatible that makes them fall behind for storage. Of course, I personally like backwards compatibility. -S Quote:

:hmm: Didn't we discuss this not too long ago?
Tit for tat and all that.:p |
Some time after DVD came along, combined VHS+DVD players appeared on the market, you know: http://images.google.com/images?svnu...=Search+Images
Can a third-party company build a combined HD-DVD/Blu-ray player and not get sued to death from both sides? It would save space, perhaps. |
There is already DVD players out there that can play both, but they can't access all the features on one of the formats, as well as costing almost twice the amount of a stand alone Blue Ray or HD DVD player
