Serious problem!
hey ok guys...my computer is not reading any disk i put in it just goes for a sec then nothing happens anybody got any advice?
|
Well you could try putting a cleaning disk in, but it's almost as cheap and quick to replace the drive. Maybe there are other ideas...?
|
Have you changed/installed/uninstalled anything on your system since the drive last worked?
I don't want to mention it yet but I have an idea.:hmm: :dead: |
not really no

Happened to me but i cleaned it and it works.
|
One thing to " try " is unplug it and plug it back in ( computer powered down of course .... or change the power lead with a different one that isn't used or switch with a hard drive one ......
|
Another option is to uninstall the drive in device manager then reboot. Windows should find it again. I've had this in the past when xp threw a hissy fit. Best of luck.

Happened here recently too...it was hardware related and I had to swap out the drive. Fortunately it happened a few days from the warrenty expiry and it was no big deal to have a replacement put in.
