(REL) Type IXC "Rheinuburg" Skin
Below is my first skin for the IXC: Type IXC "Rheinuburg" Skin. I do not think this was an actual paint scheme used for U-boats, but it is similar to that used by BISMARCK during "Operation Rheinuburg".
It is relatively simple, but it was my first attempt at working with the files for the Type IX. http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/...1e17e5e94g.jpg http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/...c320a2c44g.jpg download here: http://files.filefront.com/IXC+Rhein.../fileinfo.html For those who haven't seen it before, the exhaust smoke comes from an excellent mod made by Racerboy (available elsewhere in this forum). |

Skin
Nice skin, good idea!! I'll be using it.
Btw: I believe it was called 'Operation Rheinubung' not 'Rheinuburg' A little off topic but there is a GREAT book written by the Bismarck's 4th Gunnery Officer, Burkard Baron von Mullenheim-Rechberg, called : Battleship Bismarck, A Survivors Story. He was the highest ranking officer of the ship to survive Bismarck's last battle. A first hand account of the Bismarck's short but famous career from start to finish with lots of cool, quality photos of the interior of the ship...even a shot of the Bismarck's crew painting on the camo pattern you've used on your sub skin! A must read if you haven't already. |
Installed the skin, looks nice. I am not sure, but there might be a grill missing on the air intakes on the conning tower. I have just upgraded to the IXC from a IXB, so I am not sure if this type of boat has a grill in that possition anyway. I thought I would check.

That's where the radar is, once you get one, so no grills on there.
