Blind and def crew

I am playing GWX and I have a problem with my crew.
The outlooks cant see targets until they are at very close range, and there for the sub i spotted.
The sonar man he cant follow a sound even if I mark it for him he keeps losing contact.
And on my first, last trip I sunk three enemy vessels but only got one registered.
WHY??

Did you upgrade your boat before sailing for your first patrol? That's usually a reason for not getting credit for the sinkings. Are you using any other mods is GWX? The non-identification of the targets is most probably due to the fact that your crew is totally green. Try to give them some experience and specialisation through SH3Cmdr. That should fix the problem (I hope) :hmm:

Welcome aboard Kaleun joho :arrgh!:

Check the green bar at the top of said compartments....experience and qualifications are needed for optimum performance.
You will not get renown for your sinkings until you get the "she's going down" message.
Hang about surfaced or otherwise until you get the message.

Exactly.

Sometimes too, players forget that due to a stock SH3 bug, you have to manually drag your watch officer to the bridge after surfacing. If the watch officer is absent, there is a big collective deficit to your crew's visual detection ability.

Welcome to Subsim.

Sink'em all.:arrgh!:

Welcome to Subsim, Kaleun joho! I also think your crew's lack of experience is the main reason for being somewhat blind and deaf. :yep:

Thanx

very much.
The 2nd and 3rd (not registered) sinkings took a while to go down after impackt.
I did not want to waste torpedos so I just stuck around to visiually verify the target going under. But I had saved, while submerged prior to the sinking and reloded. Could this have anything to do with not getting credits??

Sir!, it's tomato soup!
Are we quoting Memphis Belle the movie perhaps?

NEVER save while submerged. SH3 save routines are errrm temperamental to say the least. Saving while submerged can cause all kinds of problems for ya.:yep:

Yep :yep:

Which is a true story, BUT...

Like most of the incidents in the movie, that really happened; but, like all the other stories, none of them happened to the Memphis Belle.

Your watch officer not being on the tower happens to me everytime. As a mater of fact, I thought it was SUPPOSE to be that way in the sim! It wasn't 'till later someone told me it was a bug! :rotfl:

Kpt. Lehmann is absolutely right about saving while submerged! Avoid it at all costs! I've had too many good patrols lost that way! :shifty:
