Fuel efficiency

Gents,

After a return from six months of shore duty, I am in the process of relaoding this game back into my computer. I will be running GWX when I get all of the stuff downloaded.

I remember figuring out that the IX boats ran most efficiently at 7-8 knots. Is that the case for the VII's and the II's??

Yep, 7-8 kts is the most efficient for the 7's & 9's. That is until (IIRC) you get the diesel upgrade when the IX's can use 9-10kts for the most efficient setting (the 7's might be also, don't use them much).

Well if memory serves me correctly 225rpm is the most efficent speed to run the engines at.

I always stick to 7-8 kts, even on a Type IX. Takes a bit longer to get to a patrol, but I get to go further.

I use 1/3 third ahead on whichever boat (but mostly the Type IX) :arrgh!:

Fuel efficiency ---------> Maybe this can help:
This chart I got long time ago from someone in the german SH3-Ubi-forum:

I think it is for "SH3 stock game". I don't know if it is usefull for GWX too.
Maybe someone from the GWX-Team can say, if this chart fits as well with GWX???
This image is just part of the full chart. The full chart contains also the other U-Boot-types.
If someone is interested in the full chart, here it is:

I found 9 knots for a VIIB, and 8 knots for a IXB. Experiment with your own settings and check the 'maximum range at present speed' in the integrated orders.
