Damage and Crush depth?
Got a quick question here. On my type IXB U-boat, I've dived to depths up to 140 meters before with no problems. Orange goes to 150 meters. After that is Red of course. Yesterday I dived down to 120 meters and started getting damage!
My boat was fine, hadn't even engaged anyone and my hull integretry was 100%. So what the Zark was going on here? Oh, and it wasn't hitting the sea bottom as it was out in the Atlantic and bottom was over 1,000 meters. |
You should find timetraveler's SH3 crush depth tool!
Just did a google search for that program, but I cannot find it... I should fix you up though, and you will know what your crush depth is, and can tweak it some. |
If you cannot find it somewhere else, let me know via PM, I could e-mail it too you.

SH3 Commander?
Do you play with SH3 commander? Check under "options" if "malfunctions" are marked.
I once read (can't remeber where) that SH3 Commander can randomly alter also the depth setting of the boat. |
i dont know. I once made it to 310 in a 7c and came back up. Gone over 450 but never lived to tell the tale.

I'm using SH3 commander, but I don't have the malfunctions checked.
I don't have the SH3 crush depth tool, as I'm a little leary of using other mods with GWX. |
You can find the link on my helppage.

Although it would not be the cause of your variance in this case. Most likely you had some hull damage, which affects the depth you can dive. |
