Who's "Bernard"?
 

I keep reading about this Bernard on these forums and have no idea who everyone's referring to. Can I be let in on the joke please?

Bernard is the chap who forgets to close the hatch when the call for a crash dive is ordered.. the one that leaves the saftey on the AA gun when trying to shoot at incoming aircraft.. and the one that always flushes the toilet when you're supposed to be running silent..

Basically, the buffoon :88) who's the bad apple in every great U-Boot crew and makes the his Kaleun :damn: every now and then.

See funny thread by Dowly Bernard's Father also and look at the first 3 pages He made my IIA go past Crush Depth by 40 meters and i managed to live some how from that evil black swan that forced me to go to 100m.:doh: But Bernard was the dives plate man when i odered crush depth and he went more then what I asked for. Even though he saved my butt still no Iron Cross for him.

When Dowly started this thread: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=84773 he needed a name for the 'pole dancing' pic. He chose Bernard, and the rest is history.

Put it this way, whenever I get sunk, it's never my fault, it's Bernard's. :arrgh!:

And not to forget, Bernard is the nemesis in the germans navy(uboat)The american has their own "bernard" his name is different thou.
