IJN East Of Midway ??
 

Its June 16 1942 , My virtual Countrymen have put-up destroyer pickets east of midway , I changed My computer and now Using My upgraded Hot-rod.. I started a patrol from pearl harbor , With No surface radar , Actually I new Carrear , Steaming 20 Knots , than a Damm Shot to my bow and a alot of damage . Ship goes dead in the water and I have 3 Destroyers Looking For Me . I dive below the thermal theshold and No power .. Nothing !! Iam waiting for 3 hours at 300 ft . Iam asking Myself Is the preclude to the battle of Midway ?? Were in the hell is our fleet ?? Si I decide To go too periscope depth and take a shot . Got a kill , But the other destoyer is On my aft on a attack run . "depth Charges In the water " And Bamm Iam Sinking . I just got this new Tambor class Boat , What The hell ? So I try again from Pearl . This time I go directlly too the same Cordinates and Its the same vals And zekes taking swipes at My ship . Iam say theres got to be a carrier out here , Iam watching were they start and were they fade out . I draw A bead On the location and estimate a heading , I dont go directlly , so I notice the date again is june 15 1942 . Bingo I spot a carrier task force . 3 carries and a whole lot od ships headin WNW . Iam spotted . A round catches My engines again , I crash dive . deadin the water . waited for 4 hours at 280 ft , I didnt even get a report of to Cinpac . I go too periscope depth and 4 Destoyers On MY ASS , Agin Im sunk .. Now Iam in my third tambor Class USS TUNA . This will be my third patrol , I Started from freemantle . I guess thsi was the simulated battle force that was going too attack Midway .. WOW !!!

East of midway?

The stock midway have the CVs NW.

Sadly, as you observed, there are 3 CVs.

Happened to me too.

Notified of attack, and on station, with IJN Task Force reports coming in.

But the only thing we encountered was a hornets' nest of Aircraft.

"Enermy aircraft spotted!"

--> Dive to Periscope Depth ( those Zero's sure can carry a bomb load )

---> Add, Rinse, Repeat :-?

The paradigm for CV air groups is bad, and it makes operating near a group of CVs extremely annoying.

My mod to mess with CV air groups reduces them to extremely low levels, but I think it doesn't go far enough.

With a campaign that included scripted airstrikes for the real CV battles, I think I'd remove CV aircraft totally. That or drop the range of CV planes to 50km or so as a CAP over the fleet.

I might try a version, "bungo pete clone" the A6M, B5N, and D3A to A6M_CV, etc. Have CV airgroups have a single plane in each group, or maybe 3 zeros (no bombs), and the range short enough you'd not see them til right on top of the CVs.

Since they'd point at the stock plane models, it shouldn't add to the system overhead.

Thank God Its a game .. Guilt repression , and feeling strange .. If anyone can activate a"I" series sub and have the same Dynamics of Sh4 but Only using a IJN sub maybe I would feel alot better , My grandpa would turn over in his grave if he found out I was Killing samurai warriors . Well Iam sure the whole comunity of SH4 US subs would be hunting me .. Ihave to remember thats its THE "AI" trying to kill me . Guessing thats not so bad -- so there not real .. I have too tell all here my family came from satiama Japan near toyko .. I go to japan yearly for golden week . Its like having thanksgiving thats a holds out for a week . We all love this game .. Hunting stalking and killing "AI" Ships -- There not japanese .. Ok I got that , Iam going to make mod that shows IJN as a X flag reminding me that Iam fighting "X " country . Sometimes -- AI Are just plain bastards , Iam getting fired up and forgetting about what flag they fly .. Like Oleg Maddox of Il2 , Maybe SH5 should be a lenghty campaign of being axis or allied , Would make something interesting , in multiplayer . Giving you the option of chossing sides .. Comon theres was someone in the east that desinged this game . he also had all of the aircrafts represented . Why Not all of the subs .... Dam if only Oleg was into Sub warfare ?? If you come across the virtual USS Tuna , Remember its the guy called Kimura , with the slanted eyes , Killing the same AI as you are fighting against .. I Love this game . havmt flown a betty or a zero or a val in ages . Water goes well with me . were in hell do you get sushi ? .

This patrol in the asiactic fleet I have killed 3 merchants . and on my way too being on station too kill more X flags , In the phillipines !!
