Traffic anarchy - that leads to less accidents
http://www.spiegel.de/international/...505246,00.html
Hehe, late satisfaction for me: I did not know such plans exist. Longer time ago I was sitting and talking with some friends and suggested that if you know that you have certain rules that give you rights in traffic, you tend to take them as granted and expect everybody to know - which maybe leads to a drop in awareness, and thus more accidents. Apparently the people behind these plans now think in the same direction. I wonder though if it would work in dense traffic conditions like in Berlin, for example. Probably not. Bohmte is close to Osnabrück, btw, I know that place. |
I heard about this on the way to work. Pre-coffee, so now I know that I didn't imagine it.
Tourists will love it :) |
As long as there are no 70's model Ford anarchist drivers around, it might work.

This is pretty funny! Wow! Who would have thought!??? But I guess it makes sense in a way. There were very little signs back in the 30's, right?

Fewer accidents :know:

I've seen this in action in Holland.
The Dutch use this system in places. Seems to work. Anyone from the Netherlands care to comment? The idea behind it being you see this awful mess of car, trucks, cyclists and pedestrians and go WTF! Then you concerntrate harder and hopefully in the process consider other road users. |
