Sorry Reaper, you lost me on this post. Setkeys? SH3 mapped keys for SH4? I believe that was done already if that is what you mean:hmm:

AVGWarhawk 09-07-07 08:00 PM

Reaper, chill on the large letters. Furthermore, three people including myself have no clue what you are talking about not to mention the ~. Most here and well just about around the world end sentences with a periods. Please clarify the SETKEY you are talking about. Furthermore, your latest response on this thread is uncalled for. Particularly Sailor Steve...the man lives in a library with his nose a books. I suspect he is above subnormal intelligence.

I dont think this is the kind of community that will put up with that kind of post Grim. Not sure if youve look around here much, but if your looking for help or want to contribute to the game and the community as a whole, this is the place to be. If your looking to blast people or make incoherent posts, I suggest you head over to the xbox forums.

Just for the fun of it, do you know what IQ stands for?

The OP was trying to give everyone a heads up about using Keyset 1.1 (a mod for Silent Hunter 3) with Silent Hunter 4. He says that when he tried to do it, he ran into problems such as non-functioning keyboard inputs and non-functioning command bar buttons.

Keyset 1.1 provided a way for SH3 skippers to create multiple keystroke macros (which could be activated with a SINGLE keystroke) as well as allow them to customize the keyboard command assignments for SH3 however they liked (as opposed to the vanilla keyboard command assignments that came with the game).

I believe there is an SH4 mod that reassigns the keyboard command structure of SH4 to match that of the vanilla SH3 keyboard command structure but I'm unaware of an SH4 mod that allows one to create custom macros and a custom keyboard command structure for SH4. If there is such a beast please provide a link to it for me.

So, even though the OP was "unique" in his use of the tilde key (perhaps he was trying to imitate waves?), and even though the OP seems to have an English language / English grammar barrier, what he was trying to say was not nearly as cryptic as those who have already responded in this thread seem to think.

What he was trying to do was give other SH4 users who might decide to give Keyset 1.1 a try, fair warning that he at least, encountered problems doing so. In warning them, he was trying to be helpful.

His attempt at helpfulness was met with sarcasm and somewhat condescending responses. Any wonder at all this prompted a negative response from him?

I don't understand why such mature and intelligent folks feel a need to be this way. NO SARCASM INTENDED.

Regards,

"Skyhawk"

p.s. By the way, the Keyset 1.1 mod for SH3 is downloadable content from subsim.com, wasn't hard to find at all.

Now Grim is just being immature.

But I still hold that you can either be part of the solution or you can be part of the problem. A little common sense is all that is needed, and common sense doesn't, and shouldn't, always have to mean a moderator with a lock button.
