RIP Sir.

While we love classical music, we're an opera allergic family.

The closest I can allow myself is to appropriately link to Time to Say Goodbye.

I know he had been sick for a long time, but it is still very sad. A great loss for the Italian people also.

The public face of Opera, with a lovely voice, thanks for the Nessun Dorma link, a beautiful piece. RIP Pav.

This was definately a loss not just to opera, but to singing in whole. Many singers go up then come down, they are in the charts then not, Luciano Pavarotti never came down the man went up and stayed up, in the music industry of any branch that is an accomplishment not to be sniffed at.

Argh, very sad. BBC broadcast his Central Park concert last night, it was great.
I used to like Nessun Dorma, playing a series of concerts with a conductor who insisted on destroying a nice piece of music has ruined it for me :(
He'll be missed.

*disclaimer*

This made me laugh an awful lot, but it is in very poor taste. Just like a lot of things from b3ta :)
Click away if ye like.

One of the true greats. Making heaven that much more wonderful

STEED 09-07-07 04:52 PM

I will say this, he did indeed had a great singing voice and in the world of opera he left his mark.

Skybird 09-07-07 04:56 PM

I would like opera much better if it would be purely instrumental.

VipertheSniper 09-07-07 05:02 PM

You mean like silent movies?

How about ballet? Great music, no singing, just dancing.
