Finished training - no transfer
 

Hi all. I am new to these forums but not all that new to SH4. It is a great sim and I spend far too many hours playing it. :o

A while ago, I installed the TM 1.5 mod. I know there is a later version available but I cannot remember how to install mods, so I guess I will just stick to 1.5. I am not very smart when it comes to these kinds of things.

Anyway, my question is...
Under New Construction, I started the training excercises, which I find much better than the Submarine School that came with SH4 out of the box. Upon completing all the training, while still out at sea, I was ordered to head back to base and transfer to Pearl Harbor. I sailed back to base and once at the Captain's desk I clicked on the phone to transfer to Pearl. I got a message saying something about transferring was not an option for me. A bit puzzled, I went to the mission map to check my briefing and it told me to do some live torpedo firing practice. I did this already.

It is my understanding that somewhere...somehow...I have to disable something somewhere that stops missions from repeating. As I stated earlier in this post, I am not very smart at all when it comes to these kinds of things. Could someone please give me a hand with this, and explain to me where I have to go and what I have to do? I did some poking around in the SH4 folder for something that may have to do with disabling what I need to disable, but I am totally clueless. Help would really be appreciated. Thank you.

When you start the mission you start in the middle of the ocean right??

Maybe when it says transfer to PH, you have to dock AT Pearl?,

(sorry dont actually use TM mods at moment..)

No. For this training, I am stationed in California and the excercises are done just off the coast of California. There are a number of things you have to do to complete this training, such as learning how to navigate in order to intercept a target and torpedoing a warship and for the final exam you need to reach a destination without being DC'ed to death. Upon completion of reaching the destination without being detected and DC'ed, I surfaced my sub and then was told I finished my training and I am to proceed back to base (where I came from) and I can then transfer to Pearl Harbor to begin my career.

I have been told that somewhere there is a file or something I have to change or something to disable missions from repeating. I have no clue where to look or what to do to disable this thing.

Not at all. I was told to go back to the base and use the phone (at the Captain's desk) to transfer to Pearl Harbor.

Righto, then unfortunatly, I have no clue:o :hmm: ..

I'd suggest asking someone who actually USES TM however, as I only use 1.3:down:
