This is a oxymoron

Iam at virtual war with My countrymen !:damn: Iam In the USS Finback Of the Coast Honshu . Now On the 10th patrol . I have sunk 255,223 Tons Of Merchant Japanese Ships . I dont Bother with taskforces . But I have A concense , Iam sinking japanese ships !! But I love this sim . Its the greatest of all Things besides Il2 1946 .I spend an average of 2 hours a day In my virtual war , glad that Iam american japanese man . Wow Still feeling strange ??

I wish a mod team would come -up with a !400 class Sub so I can switch sides . Not really . But Iam having fun as LTCMDR ,Jeff Davis , The Imersion level at times gets my heart pounding , especially when a Destroyer is tracking me . If only the virtual japanese sailor could see my eyes . maybe they would stop attacking me ---LOL :o But Those bastards at times piss me off . Than I kill them -SUNKED :ping: .

Its all In great fun

No, you hit on something!

You know, the Japanese had great subs and much better torpedoes than anyone in the world. What they didn't have was the correct strategy to use them. That would not have been a duplication of our strategy, but a more aggressive use of their submarines would have gone a long way to making the war last longer.

I doubt it could have made any difference in the eventual outcome, however, because the US could produce ships faster than the Germans could sink them. The Japanese couldn't have come close to the success of the U-Boats, no matter what their strategy.

Still, to run an I-Boat would be very interesting, and to shoot torpedoes that were reliable over unimaginable (for Americans) distances would be fun.

When i played SH3, i more or less specalized in prowling the US east coast and carribean. Sinking American ships (myself an american) was always something that made me giddy, for no other reason then being "close to home", in the end its just a game.
