fresh player having patching trouble
 

Hi,
recently installed SH3 (today yeyy:D :D ) and ive tried to patch it to v1.3 from ubi soft website but when i try to patch it it says that my MissionEnging.Dll is an unkown version? what do i have to do to get it to work

well, did you just recently purchase the game?

most of the time when you buy the game off the shelf it already comes patched to the latest 1.4b patch.

run the game, and on the initual loading screen, after the intro movie look in one of the lower corners of the loading screen and it should say which version you have. 1.1 or 1.3 or 1.4 etc

if it is already the latest version... your good to go.

edit: the game in it's stock configuration is not that hard, if you know anything at all about submarines (ie have watched and easily followed or understood a lot of sub movies) you should be good to go. If you plan to use GWX the game is more historically difficult.

Are you sure youre using the right patch? There are 4 different one I think. All of them patch to the same version but are for different distributions of the game. One is for US DVD copies, one for the downloaded game, one for the european DVD etc. Make sure you have the correct one. Maybe try the other 3?

P.S. Game only feels complete with the GWX mod. IMHO of course.

Shelton- I used to play SH2 and loved it, so thought id try SH3

For an enhanced experience, add on a supermod. Check out the supermod thread to find out about GWX, NYGM, WAC etc...
