I read a couple of years ago that the captain of "Glorious" was hurrying to his destination in order to attend the court martial of an officer whom he had a grudge against. He didn't wait for a more substantial escort (according to the author), and his ship was with only two destroyers when she was caught by the battlecruisers. There were just a few dozen survivors out of thousands of men...:nope:

Intersting footage. It also showed one of the problems the scharnhorst and her sister suffered. They were both wet ships, the water coming over the bow at high speed, even though the sea state wasn't that large. They most likely would submerge quicker than my IX sub!:huh:
