ARRRRGGGHHH it's not frikken fair
i come across a US carrier task force headed west and decide to join up on it right flank as they were goin my way to Formosa for a supply drop. i take up position at 11kts and i get a CTD:damn: :damn: :damn: :damn: :damn: :damn: :x . it was made up of 2 fleet carriers, 2 Bogue escort carriers 2 Northhampton heavy cruisers, several DDs Clemson/Somers, including a Fletcher on point, and 3 T3s:cry:

Ummm...you're playing the US right? SH 4? Then why the whimper over CTDing when you've found an US taskforce? It's not like you'd be allowed to sink them, mate ;)

Ive tried this tactic too untill I realized they were going to eventually out run me and I was burning fuel at a furious pace.

Yea, the US subs were called "fleet boats" because that was the intention, but they never had the required speed without taking advantage of the tankers in the force (which unfortunately you cannot do.) Now, if the TF was going to a location where I could refit, I might do it once for fun.
As for the CTDs, never tried escorting a TF (never got close to a US TF) so don't know if that's a fault or not. I suspect it isn't and your computer was just looking for an excuse to die and the extra work load took it out. I've been in some monster enemy formations so I know the game can handle it if your puter can. -Pv- |
