New guy here, a little help please

hi guys,
Im not a total new guy, as i used to play SH2 but i was never any good at it (i used to sink the odd liberty ship but thats about it). so basically Im a little 'out of the loop' so to speak.

i was just wondering about a couple of things;

-if there is still a following for SH3 or has everyone moved to SH4?

-is there still a reasonable multiplayer facility in SH3?

-other than playing the part of a US sub whats the difference between SH3 and SH4?

like i said im a little out of the loop so i appreciate your understanding

many thanks
Adam

SH3 still has a massive following
In fact its grown since the release of SH4

Cant tell you the differences between 3 and 4 as only had one patrol in SH4

Atlantic is the place for me

PPl still play multiplayer
There are often ppl on the Ubi server when I look

Check the forum numbers on this one, there are still many, many playing SH3 :yep: Some are playing both SH3 and SH4 ( including me ), some folks just SH4 and so on.... Two great sims, two great theatres.

The two are different games\theatres, different experiences. In the Pacific you are travelling over larger expanses, patroling ( multiple objectives ) more specific regions, in the Atlantic things are a bit more wide open. Your best bet is to check out some of the threads here, do a bit more research.

By the way if you do plan to play SH4 in the future it is a bit of a computer hog
( the game looks awsome by the way, check out the LBO Mod on the SUBSIM Front Page :yep: ), looking at your specs, the game would crawl at best, 1gig of ram reccommended, 2gig is ideal.

I played SH3 back when it was released, never survived the war though.

Pre-Ordered SHIV.

I'm still trying to survive the war. Think I might do it this time.

SHIV requires a megamachine to run. SHIII runs on must computers, and does it very well.
GWX is great and will hold your attention.
I don't play SHIV as both my computers are not strong enough.
