Did they really put minefields all over ? :P
No idea if this happened to others - it probably did, but in a mission, I was on my way home, with 6 ships sunk, and i hear a contact on a battleship closing - I prepare myself for a battle, ensure that my ship has been repaired from the last battle (It was!), I then asked for depth to keel - 61 meters, as everything seems fine, i set to periscope depth, and slow down to 2/3s- And now their ambush set in it seems :)
Hull damaged- Rader Damage- Periscope Damaged - We're leaking sir- Flooding Sir- Sonar Damaged - ( The list continues with EVERY part of my sub, including draining me from diesel, electricity, and air-) Now i wonder :) Did the japaness really set mine fields all over the sea ? :P Cause after reloading i tried another place - bam i died again.. In other terms.. wheres the fix for this ? Kinda ruined my day, if you get my point. |
It was repaired on the inside !! But on the outside, you had damage galore
Probably big gapping holes in the outer hull. SH4 will lead you to believe all damage was repaired but it was NOT. Holes in the outer hull can't be repaired while at sea.... JIM |
Subs have hitpoints which are only repaired in port. ALL damage is cumulative in this sense.
If you park next to somethign with 20mm and let it shoot you, you will take no internal damage (heck, no crew deaths), but you WILL sink at some point. |
Ah right :) External damage, ofc. The captain should be able to see that though - imo, but hey i didn't create the game :) I only found it weird that i sank all the time, but this certainly improves my feeling right now :) A bug would have been bad, especially when i recall the unmodded version of SH3, where you suddenly got men killed while on the sea, and at times you suddenly just died with no reason.. :P
