Patrolling off Halifax
After my current patrol, im going to do a patrol off the port of Halifax, as there's some nice tonnage to be bagged. I was wondering whats the best way to approach/patrol this area without been sunk, and still get a good tonnage haul?
(btw its 1941 - so there's bound to be a fair amount of air cover) |
Try to set up ambuses in the local convoys. Position yourself ahead of the lines and try to sneak through the escorts. After that just sink whatever is on sight.
Good Luck  |

Take it from me thats an unequivocal yes around here.:rotfl: |
If you stay in deep water WSW of Halifax you will be on the convoy route in out of the port. Remember to keep an eye out for aircraft as you are in range of the airbases there.
Bagged myself an escort carrier, liberty ship, medium tanker and a large cargo from one convoy there in mid 43, playing GWX. Also knocked of a wellington as well!:arrgh!: Not a bad patrol just over 110,000 tons sunk!:sunny: |
