I have been doing a career from the start of the war until late 1940 and i am up to patrol no 16 or something and now when i load it i get to the sat in port with the band playing bit and then it crashes to desktop with no dialogues or anything.only when i try to load this career.Any ideas what might be wrong?

Added any mods ?
What does the SH3 error message say ? Always helps http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h2...ooly/CTD-1.jpg |
It is scandalous, that in both SH2 & SH3, games in which 2 or 3 months can routinely pass over the course of a single patrol, that the save game feature doesn't work perfectly.:nope:

no mods whatsoever.just stock version. its a bit silly but at least i can always start another one.

Same here...
I have been having a similar situation when reloading a saved game ... I crash to desktop.. with no error messages. It really stinks when Im in the middle of a convoy with some nice tonnage under my belt and having to begin anew. I just save often, that way I backtrack til I find a saved game it likes and just keep going.

This phenomena usually occurs when you save whilst submerged or within 50km of port, or when you add something like a mod mid patrol :arrgh!:

And all these Save Bugs are in the stock version. There is another bug that rewrites all the info in all your careers to have most of the info of the first career, that has also been in since stock. There is also the bug where the game stops seeing your saves. I think this is actually several bugs with the same result, only one of which can be fixed by cutting and pasting your careers folder back and forth between your desktop. Basically saving at any time other than the end of the mission, was extremely poorly tested. |
it happen to me when I clicked "Save and Exit"
