well, it finally happened finally finally finally

i came across a TF in foul weather early morning and then it clears up and i'm in a perfect position to bag a fleet carrier:rock: . anyother timer i had a TF i was either out of position, or the weather did not cooperate. 3 tin cans came after me but they went to the wrong spot, i reloaded came back tp periscope depth and took out an escort carrier and still the 3 DDs are outta place, tho they were bearing down on me but far enuff away for me to get the EC. now i just gotta bide my time and get a coupla cruisers:ping:

Nice work on maneuvering out away from those DD's while getting a good shot at the taskforce... Usually if I annoy the DD's at the fringe of the TF I end up to far away for a nice attck position even if I give them the slip.

Sink em... sink em all!!... two torps in each cruiser should make them go up like a christmas tree.

I've been able to sink an entire TF recently (2x CVs, 3x CL, 1x something else) while the DDs were packed together in groups of three, having a party.

thx. it's fiunny too. 1 DD and a subchaser i can't get away from without ending up:dead: , but 3 DDs can be evaded:-? . anyway, i got 11 fish left so something's definitely gonna take a dive. let them party. i got one of my own to attend:ping:

go get them Capt.!

If plans for a post mission report are feasable, I would like to review it for future stratagies.

Good Luck and happy hunting!

Well the best thing I have come across is 4 un-escorted, damaged Escort Carriers going about 5 knots and I still had about 15 torps left. It was fun, they all went glug glug in about 20 minutes :D That was a good day.

i plan too. chasing down 2 heavy cruisers now, Mogami class, but had to save cuz i gotta goto work in about 40min:damn: . as to tactics, what you can try is let them ping and locate you then when you feel they're far enuff from the TF, go deep 250-300ft and alter course as necessary and at flank speed with silent running enabled and the damage control party disabled. they have a bad habit of staying active when going silent and at battlestations:damn: . at least 2 should circle around where you were while you should be able to get closer for a better shot:ping: . most of it's just luck, tho

i finally got them. 2 Mogami and 2 DDs in addition to the 2 carriers and had to leave a Kuma down by the stern making turns for about 2 knots. can't go after it cuz 4 more DDs are lookin for me...in the wrong place:smug: . i might come about and finish it with the deck gun. i dunno how many times i reloaded that particular save. one Mogami slowy went down turning turtle, eventually:ping:. to get them took a lotta zigzagging in toward them, then paralelling their course to get in a half decent position, from abaft

Hmmmm..... I never thought of the DC party giving me away. It's a no brainer, I must play around with that stat.

yeah, it's annoying as hell having to stand them down when running silent, when it should be done automatically

Takes away the whole point of silent running, you might aswell have a neon light sticking out the water saying.. I'm here..

nope, i've used that tactic, tho unintentionally, and it work well enuff. they're busy depth charging/searching where you fired from but you're no longer there. that's pretty much how i got 2 cruisers:ping:
