F12 external view question
Perhaps this is a beat question but when F12 is first used the start view is always to the Starboard. I would like to know if there is a way to change that to ahead, forward view, '0' degrees.
Thanx. |
ummmm not sure i think its dependant on which way your periscope is pointing. im might be wrong though
|
It doesn't show the same direction for me all the time either.
But the initial viewing direction might be in some config file though. I don't believe that it is hardcoded. |
IIRC, in stock it always pointed in one direction but has since been randomised in the supermods. Well, GWX at least. I think this was done to reduce the usefulness of the external view in terms of tactical awareness.
|
If you take a 90 degree left then access the view you will view from the port side and vice versa. If I'm after some screenshots I centre the view at 'ahead' prior to carrying out the operation and know precisely which viewing perspective I'm going to get on activation of 'F12'
It works for me anyway :hmm: |
Ok so if it can be randomized then one should be able to un-randomize this.
I am an eye-candy fan, looking to direct a view to where I want it. The only time that becomes a frame rate problem is right after an explosion in heavy smoke with an AGP card. But a lighter smoke effect using Dowleys smoke helps out. |

I think it was from ubrs, I can't remember but when I'm home later I'll check.
If I can't find the link I'll upload it to mysh3.info d/l page. You know what else I found to help out a bit is the stock seafloor mod. Just something for thought. edit Uploaded http://mysh3.info/files/dowlysoblivionsmoke.rar I haven't listed on the d/l page but it's there. Now that I think about it I may have found it on a search in the old archive forums here. Now, can anyone pinpoint the original question/edit I was asking about? |
