Someone told me to run 1/3 speed when under & 2/3 when surfaced ! I need to know as i keep arriving "on Return trip" on air or batterys when reaching Midway!

Advice is correct

Hi

The advice is corrected. Here's some additional advice.

- Stay surfaced! Sail to your destination surfaced and only dive when under attack
- You must use Midway to refuel for both legs of the journey from Pearl to Japan.

And last but not least

- Go home when you've reached diesel level of half full.

Yep, that'swhat I do, It may take a while but it gets you there AND back.

Generally I stay surfaced until my men spot something, then I check what direction it's heading in, and then depending on what it is and direction, I'll either stop, briefly speed up or continue as normal.

And if I'm in enemy territory, to be ont he safe side, I'll stay submerged from about 0600h till 1930 h or 2000h

Go home even if your being directed to another part of patrol such as East China sea ? When you refit at midway & are given additional Torpedoes, Do you still return to Pearl ? I been assuming they want you to use those before returning to Pearl !
